Life is a spiritual journey. We all seek to find meaning in life; a sense of wellbeing, significance and love. We can spend a lifetime searching for contentment but never find it. The pursuit of “success” or “happiness” may bring temporary fulfillment, but it is fleeting. The longing in our souls and the quest for satisfaction can be insatiable.
God has placed eternity in our hearts. As we sojourn through this life, God is revealing Himself to each of us in everyday life; in beauty, nature, the laughter of children, comfort in suffering, blessings that are unmistakably from Him…all meant to looking upward with a driving curiosity; who is God? How do I find Him?
What do you seek? What you seek determines the true desire of your heart. Are you seeking God? Many people want to “find” Him but they look in the wrong places. He cannot be found in religious rituals or in the worship of nature. He cannot be found in working hard at “doing church” or manipulating Him for His approval or blessing. We simply can work hard enough to earn our way into the heart of God. He is already aware of your hunger to know Him. If you look, you will find He can be found in what He says about Himself in His Word; the Bible.
“And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. Hebrews 11:6 ESV
